Hide me in the dark
A photographic exploration of transience.
Every moment is fleeting. Every glance, every touch, every laugh—lingering only for an instant before fading into the currents of time. *Hide Me in the Dark* is a visual reflection on disappearance, the relentless slipping away of time.
The images open a space where transience becomes tangible—not as an abrupt vanishing, but as a quiet, almost numb weight settling over the moment. A liminal state where light and darkness merge, where memories are already turning into shadows even as they still exist.
This project is a silent struggle with the inevitable. An attempt to accept the passing of time by making it visible. Every beautiful moment will fade—but in the image, a trace of it remains.
*Hide Me in the Dark* was conceived as a book from the very beginning—an object that not only depicts transience but embodies it. A medium that preserves the moment while making its fragility tangible.
Published in a limited edition and entirely handmade, each copy is unique. The Coptic binding holds the pages together, yet the open spine remains visible—a deliberate choice that reflects the vulnerability of what is shown. Nothing is hidden, no solid cover shields the inside.
The curation was developed in collaboration with Wolfgang Zurborn, president of the German Photographic Academy and director of Galerie Lichtblick—a dialogue on the interplay of images, the perception of in-between spaces, and the experience of losing oneself in time.
