Hide me in the dark
A photographic exploration of transience.
Every moment is fleeting. Every glance, every touch, every laugh. They linger only for an instant before fading away in the whirlpool of time. “Hide Me in the Dark” is a visual reflection on disappearance, on the inexorable slipping away of time.
The images open up a space where transience becomes palpable. An almost numbing heaviness settles over the moment.
“Hide Me in the Dark” was conceived as a book from the very beginning. Published in a limited edition and entirely handmade, each copy is one of a kind. The Coptic binding holds the pages together, yet the open spine remains visible. A deliberate choice that reflects the vulnerability of what is shown. Nothing is hidden; no solid cover protects the interior.
The curation was developed in collaboration with Wolfgang Zurborn, president of the German Photographic Academy and director of the Lichtblick Gallery
